to say out loud

In the details

The small things I remember

Like that time we got lost for an hour just looking for coffee, and it turned out we were two blocks from home. Or the way you always save me the last piece of whatever we're sharing, even when you want it yourself. It's those little things I never say thank you for.

Three observations for the occasion

My phone's autocorrect has given up on me.
I practiced this speech in the shower three times.
The cat knows more about apologies than I do.

Said out loud

What I want to tell you

I know I've been quiet, and I know I've been stubborn. But I'm sorry for the times I wasn't there, for the words I didn't say, for the moments I let slip away. You've been patient with me, with all my flaws. I'm not good at this, but I'm trying. So here it is, plain and simple: I'm sorry, and I'm grateful. And I hope you know that.
